BOULDER – Tickets for the inaugural Big 12 Lacrosse Championship hosted by CU Boulder at Prentup Field on May 1-3 are officially on sale, Colorado Athletics announced Monday, Feb. 17. Fans of all Big 12 teams including the Buffs can purchase their tickets here. For the inaugural season, the Colorado Buffaloes have been selected to host the Big 12 Championship at Prentup Field in May at the conclusion of the 2025 regular season. Six teams will play a round-robin of five games, with the top four teams advancing to the Championship semifinals. Similarly to winning the Pac-12, winning the Big 12 Championship will serve as an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament. Fans can purchase a session pass for all three games — two semifinals and the Championship — for a flat rate of $25. For individual games, tickets for adults are $12 per adult, and children ages 4-12 are $9 per child. The 2025 season will be historic for the six teams competing in the Big 12, marking the conference's first-ever lacrosse season. Colorado, Arizona State and Cincinnati will be joined by three affiliate teams, Florida, San Diego State and UC Davis, to kick off a new era in the Big 12.  For the first time, the Colorado lacrosse team will play its home games at Prentup Field after playing its previous home seasons at Kittredge Field. The change will enable the lacrosse team to utilize fan amenities at Prentup while also playing games under the lights. The Buffs opened the 2025 season in Palo Alto, Calif., against the Stanford Cardinal on Feb. 13 (15-10, STAN) and the USC Trojans on Feb. 16 (15-6, USC). CU will continue on the road this week at Northwestern (Feb. 21) before returning to Boulder for its home opener against Army at Prentup Field (Feb. 28). Colorado will play nine nonconference games before starting Big 12 play on the road at San Diego State (Mar. 29), and the Black and Gold will host Florida to open Big 12 play at home (Apr. 12). Fans can purchase Big 12 Championship tickets, as well as season tickets and single game tickets for home CU lacrosse games at Prentup Field here and view the full Buffs' schedule here. Before the start of the 2025 season, the Buffs (0-2, 0-0 Big 12) were picked to finish second in the Preseason Big 12 Coaches' Poll. CU was ranked 21st in the first week of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Poll and 20th in the Inside Lacrosse Women's (ILWomen) Division I Media Poll. Graduate attacker Madeline Pisani was picked for Preseason Big 12 Attack Player of the Year, and junior defender Jess Peluso and junior midfielder Lily Assini joined her on the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. Pisani also Earned USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America Honorable Mention. The Buffs are coached by 12th-year head coach Ann Elliott Whidden, who was named IWLCA West/Midwest Region Coach of the Year (2017 and '18), was the 2018 Pac-12 Coach of the Year and 2017 MPSF Coach of the Year. For more information on the Colorado women's lacrosse team, a complete schedule and results, please visit CUBuffs.com.
