Wicklow football manager Oisín McConville has said the “mad situation” that has seen significant overlap between National League and Sigerson Cup games in 2025 will have to be addressed ahead of the 2026 season.

McConville – while very pleased with his team’s first-half performance in Saturday’s Division Four win over Waterford – said Wicklow’s second-half display was not good enough, regardless of context. However, he did say some outside factors did affect Wicklow.
